              Language and culture are intertwined, and we cannot learn a language without knowing the surrounding culture that goes with it. ' Culture teaches us how to think, communicate,with others, and perceive our surroundings. ' Moreover, language is linked to every social aspect of life so that language, culture, and society are interlinked. Examples will be given to illustrate this relationship between language and culture (language varies according to the cultural context) and between language and society (the norms and rules that guide our interactions). Finally, the main theories on  language and culture will be described.
